Hello, my name is Vlada, and I am from Ukraine. Before the war, living in another country was never something I thought about, as I was happy with my life back home. However, everything changed on March 5th when I left Ukraine with my daughter on an evacuation train, and we ended up in Poland. There, we found out about the CUAET program, which helped us come to Canada. The first weeks in Canada were easier thanks to the warm welcome and help from our hosts. Now, I live in Edmonton and work part-time as a cook, while learning to handle my money on my own since my daughter has moved out after getting a job. My biggest struggle is the language barrier, which is between me and my dream of returning to my job as an accountant. I am determined to get better at English and hope to find chances to study more. I am looking for language courses or educational programs that can prepare me for my dream job. Your support in my education would mean so much to me. Thank you.
