Hi, I’m Uliana. I moved to Canada from Ukraine in early 2025 because I needed to escape the ongoing war. Back home, I did well as a travel agent because I loved exploring and finding new places. Arriving in Brandon, a calm and small city, has been a blessing for my family, especially with our teenage son. Even though we have a helpful Ukrainian community here, the change hasn’t been easy. Getting used to a new culture, lifestyle, and dealing with the language barrier has been hard. My understanding of English is okay, but I find speaking tough, and I really want to get better so I can find a job and talk confidently with native speakers. Looking for the bright side in our daily life helps us stay strong as we keep adjusting. I would really appreciate any help to improve my English and make our settlement easier.
